I highly recommend that you find a private instructor to help you to perfect the parts of each song that you will be learning/playing in addition to what I will show you in the group situation. Band is somewhat different from learning songs from scratch. You should be prepared with some knowledge of guitar chords, rhythms, drum grooves, piano chord inversions, bass, percussion, vocal pitch, phrasing, note values, song structure, reading and more. It's crucial to know some of these basics about playing songs before coming to each class. Having a private teacher will be a great assistance to you and to the eventual success of any band you join.
